Scope of Work:
Technical Translation:
Translated six pages of English documentation into Spanish and Portuguese.
The content was primarily bullet points describing their product.
Proofreading & Quality Assurance:
Ensured that the translated materials conveyed the same meaning as the original English documents.
Worked closely with the client to ensure the translations met their standards and preferences.
Cultural & Linguistic Adaptation:
Ensured the content was not just literally translated but also made culturally and contextually appropriate for the target audience.
Challenges & Solutions:
One of the challenges was to maintain the original tone and intent of the sales materials while making sure it resonates with the target audience. I overcame this by collaborating closely with the client and occasionally consulting with native speakers from the target audience to get feedback.
Outcome:
The project was a success. The translated documents effectively communicated the product details in both Spanish and Portuguese, ensuring that the client could reach a broader audience without any linguistic barriers.
